Since 1994, Kidpower Colorado has provided services to most school districts and many agencies in our community. Every school/district is unique which is why every Kidpower workshop is unique.
Kidpower is happy to customize programs to the specific needs of your group. Please call our office to discuss your school or agency’s particular situation and we can propose various lengths and formats to fit your needs. Kidpower also holds programs during the day and can be projected into classrooms. Call or email us to discuss fees and scholarships for workshops. Grant funding is often available for under-resourced schools so that there is no cost to participating families.
Kidpower programs are designed to be:
- preventative, helping to stop bullying, abuse, and harassment
- accessible and adaptable for all special education and general education students
- age-appropriate, supporting growth of core safety skills from early childhood through adulthood
- strengths-based, valuing and building on participants’ capacity, skills, knowledge, and potential
- complementary, often enhancing existing programs used by school mental health professionals
- trauma-sensitive, promoting emotional and physical safety, centering the role of strong relationships with nurturing caregivers, and planning for the potential impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
- culturally aware, integrating a commitment to culturally sensitive practices
