What is J.E.D.I.?
Since our beginning, we have valued the principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (J.E.D.I.) because these essential principles help kids feel safe and valued. Building strong, confident children begins when they feel respected for who they are.
We recognize the needs of all children and those who care for them, including those who historically have been disregarded based on race/ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, socioeconomic status, educational status, or religion.
We work to break down barriers to safety and to build a supportive community where all individuals feel welcome.
Under the auspices of Kidpower International, Kidpower workshops are taught in locations around the world, in culturally sensitive ways, and in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, Kurdish, Persian, Spanish, Swedish, and Vietnamese. In Colorado, Kidpower classes have been delivered in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language. Written materials have been delivered in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese can can be available in other languages as needed.
Kidpower’s vision is to work together to create cultures of caring, respect, and safety for everyone everywhere. Being part of Kidpower means upholding important safety skill principles and also the tenets of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI). We work hard to uphold these principles organizationally and personally and recognize it is a continual process of examining and changing policies , communication, and structures to make meaningful change.
